HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

Self-referrals are accepted. You can call me at 226-568-7260 or email cardinaltherapies@outlook.com. When contacting me leave a message with your name and a phone number where I can reach you. Please wait until we speak to share details about your personal health information as confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in email communication.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. At the first appointment we'll go over intake documents and I'll ask about your current life circumstances and what brought you to therapy. We'll also talk about your personal and health history, and your strengths and resources. Then we'll define your therapeutic goals and discuss how I can support you in achieving them. How often we meet will depend on your unique needs and schedule.

Sessions are by video or phone. If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment please give 24 hours notice or you will be charged the full session fee.

Sessions are by appointment only. I'm not a crisis service and cannot be available for unscheduled conversations.

24/7 crisis support is available in Canada by calling 9-8-8

ARE YOU COVERED BY INSURANCE?

Psychotherapy services are not covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan). You might have access to extended benefits through employee and private health insurance plans. I'll provide a receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. If your insurance company requires a physician referral please speak with your doctor.

IS PSYCHOTHERAPY REGULATED?

Psychotherapy is a regulated health profession. Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario must meet professional standards that ensure you are receiving competent, ethical, quality care. You can find information about the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) at www.crpo.ca.

ARE VIDEO SESSIONS PRIVATE AND SECURE?

To meet with you virtually, and for all my clinical documentation, I've carefully selected a practice management software program which meets Canadian and CRPO security and privacy standards to protect your personal health information.

During a virtual therapy session please be in a quiet, private location where you won't be interrupted, distracted, or overheard. This will help you to focus on our conversation and share information more comfortably.
